I bought this brush because it was said to prevent static, and it really does!! I have thin, thick hair with a lot of volume, so static is usually a big problem, but this brush stops the static. However, it feels like it doesn't comb deeply in the back where my hair is thick, so I comb with an Aveda brush first and then use this one to tidy up, and it works fine. My mom has thick hair with a very dry scalp and dry hair, which causes a lot of static, but for hair that isn't very thick, it really smooths it down quickly. Also, the brush isn't too light, but rather on the heavier side. The price is a bit high unless it's on promotion. I think it would be reasonable if it were priced in the low $10 range, but in the high $10 range, it feels a bit expensive. Using coupons is tricky because the price is a bit awkward.
