Midnight Soothing Cleansing Balm

This cleansing balm leaves me skin feeling so soft! My skin is currently dehydrated and I find that my face also feels a bit tight after rinsing off the balm.

It's fun to dispense and the container keeps the product hygienic but unfortunately it's hard to tell when you're running low. It's also easy to see how well you've rinsed it off your skin because it will look dirty, haha!

First of all, the black packaging was so beautiful as soon as I received it! 🖤
The lid was easy to open, and it twists smoothly without needing much force, which I really liked!

The biggest advantage of this product is that the contents don’t come into contact with air, so there’s no worry about dust or contamination even after multiple uses. Even if you wash your hands, there can be some discomfort with other products, but this one doesn’t have that at all! You can control the amount perfectly, and if you twist too much, you can adjust the amount from the top again. The lid also protects against dust and air contact, showing how much care was put into this product!!

The second advantage is exactly as the product name suggests.
I was amazed while using it because it’s so gentle—I even thought it was a mud pack, that’s how mild it is!
At first, it has a texture, but with your body and skin temperature, it naturally turns oily on your face. I thought it would be too oily, but it wasn’t, which I actually liked more!

This is a cleansing balm that you twist to shave off. It's a texture you don't see often, but after trying it, I found it very hygienic and really great to use! This is my first time using a twist-to-scoop cleansing balm and I love how hygienic and convenient it is! Other cleansing balms require a spatula or using your hands, which can feel a bit unsanitary, but with this one, you just twist out the amount you need, which is great. I have extremely dry and sensitive skin, and after cleansing, my face didn’t feel tight or irritated at all. I usually only do a single cleanse, and after applying just a bit of BB cream and washing my face, it cleans thoroughly without leaving any residue. I tested it on the back of my hand with a Tuke eyeliner and a heavily pigmented Peripera tint. The eyeliner was removed cleanly, while the tint left a slight stain. Considering using a lip & eye remover for lips, I think it will remove everything perfectly.

It has an oily and slightly slippery texture, and when gently rolled on the face, it’s great for a light first cleanse. The oily feeling isn’t heavy but light enough to emulsify, so you can use it without any burden!

*Note: Overall, I have combination skin with oily areas around my nose and forehead!
Daily Review
I mainly used this in the evening daily.
I don't usually wear makeup often,
so I used this Midnight Soothing Cleansing Balm to wash off the oil and grime built up throughout the day!
The texture was smooth when massaging, emulsified very well, and removed the oil without any residue.
For reference, I followed up with a gentle foaming cleanser for a second cleanse without irritation!
Most importantly, since it comes in a grinder form, it’s much more hygienic and convenient compared to typical cleansing balms that you have to scoop out.

Makeup Day Review
On days I wore makeup, I made sure to cleanse thoroughly. This Midnight Cleansing Balm melted away all the makeup and oil accumulated during the day right as I started massaging, leaving my skin very clean!
I noticed some breakouts starting to appear by night on makeup days, but after cleansing well with this balm, the breakouts visibly reduced by the next morning!

As far as I know, the reason this cleansing balm is black is because of black rice extract, which is said to be effective for moisturizing, soothing inflammation, and strengthening the skin barrier (maybe that’s why my breakouts calmed down).

+Additional Review: The amount seems smaller than expected. It feels like it runs out in about a month… ㅜㅜ Keep this in mind when purchasing!!

When you put it on your hand, it spreads like a sherbet, then turns oily when rubbed, and emulsifies with water, effectively removing makeup! The scent is barely noticeable. I'm sensitive to fragrances, but this one had almost no uncomfortable smell! It's not fragrance-free but has a charcoal-like scent common in cosmetics..! It was fine!
